Commercial and Residential Real Estate
When it comes to buying or selling, lending or borrowing, JDKK has what it takes to achieve our clients’ goals. We are well-recognized for our expertise in Texas real estate law. Our experience helps clients close even complex deals, faster. Our expertise includes:
- Rick Spencer, our resident expert on real estate transactional matters, has been board certified in Commercial and Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for nearly 20 years.
- Respected teacher of Real Estate Law courses for the Texas Bar Association.
- Active membership in the Texas State Bar’s Real Estate Forms Committee and Texas College of Real Estate Lawyers.
- Close monitoring of pending and recent changes to legislative and case law.
We represent a wide range of commercial and residential lenders, borrowers, and others whose real estate issues include loans, construction matters, due diligence, workouts, and foreclosures. A subset of that practice includes actively representing commercial and residential developers with issues concerning borrowing, title, lot sales, platting, and zoning.
We have represented a county in ad-valorem tax cases, a municipality in real estate matters, and various homeowners’ associations and property owners in the implementation, alteration, and enforcement of deed restrictions. We have also represented numerous commercial landlords and tenants on issues concerning commercial leases.
Our broad experience ranges from simple real estate transactions to the highly complex, involving multi-jurisdictional interests and multi-parties. Our attorneys often appear as expert witness in real estate cases and are well versed in providing and reviewing local counsel opinions. We are routinely contacted by other law firms to consult on litigation concerning real estate.
